Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is one of those terms we hear about more and more often, but do you know its purpose and how it can affect your marketing needs?
The brain behind SEO at TNT Dental is Angela Myers. As the SEO Director, Angela helps clients enhance their web presence through smart keywords and content, to help drive business to their pages! Through her cadre of team members and resources, she can assist dental practices with analysis of target areas and develop a plan for strategic keywords to focus on so practices can be easily found in search engine results.
Getting to Know Angela
- Born and raised in North Texas
- Lover of all animals (especially cats)
- An avid reader and music appreciator
The foundation of a good dental website relies on 1) referrals, and 2) getting to the top of the first page of Google’s search results. Angela’s team can provide you methods to attract both new and existing patients through the use of relevant search terms and keywords, which will take your business to page 1 of Google results!
While Angela can transform your website into search rankings gold, she didn’t start out with SEO in mind. After graduating from Loyola University New Orleans, she worked in the financial industry and in quality assurance testing for a web-based software company. Changing gears, Angela came to TNT Dental, working on the production side before transitioning to SEO. When not researching the latest SEO strategies, she has a love for ALL animals, although cats are her favorite. Angela has two cats, Alexander Hamilcat and Aaron Purr – yes, inspired by the Hamilton musical. In addition to her fur babies, Angela is an avid reader and loves traveling to a new place once a year – so far, her favorites are Austria and Switzerland. Her next stops hopefully will include Italy, Greece and an Alaskan Cruise!
“I love organic SEO because it requires investigative work and analysis and each case is unique depending on the market – I feel like I get to solve puzzles all day.”
Her passion for helping clients in developing the best SEO strategy for their practice is evident; she pulls out all the resources necessary to improve search engine rankings for each client, ranging from Google Analytics to MOZ to Search Engine Watch, and more.
While Google is not the only search engine out there, it is the most prevalent. According to Angela, Bing and Yahoo matter, but getting top billing on Google matters the most.
Getting to the First Page of Google
Angela and her team are equipped to devise a plan for your practice to help improve the quality of your site and your search rankings! Here are some of her tips to getting found on Google, and more importantly, landing on the first page of results:
What Angela Does at TNT Dental
- Leads a team that analyzes and helps dentists grow their web presence
- Assist dentists with evaluating the area they need to target and optimize their website and keywords
1. Consider Location & Proximity
Organic search relies heavily on the users and business’ location, so target a Google-designated area close to your practice! Target the areas near you and focus on those first. Don’t forget, TNT can help you determine which area you should target and optimize both your website and keywords.
2. Maintain your Google My Business page
Be sure your page information is accurate and stay active on it. Incorporating pictures and both receiving and responding to reviews make a difference! Your patients’ reviews are critical to your website’s success. TNT can assist you in claiming a Google My Business page.
3. Content is King
You not only want a good quantity of content, but also good quality. Google continuously indexes websites to make sure your content is relevant, accurate and user-friendly. Blogs are a good way to share content on your site; it’s a way to continuously add interesting information on your site, which Google loves! It’s also a good way to personalize your site, making it more relatable, which translates to more clicks and higher site rankings! Let TNT amplify and optimize your content.
4. Maintain Your Business Listings
If you have a directory with your business listed on it (e.g. Facebook, Yelp, etc.), you need to make sure the information is uniform and accurate. This consistency builds trust with Google; it validates your business and helps with ranking. TNT can help streamline this process and ensure that uniformity and consistency is there among all your listings.
2018 SEO Trends Dentists Need to Know About
As the SEO Director, Angela is continuously researching the latest marketing developments designed to enhance websites. Here are the trends she’s identified in 2018 that every dentist should follow to grow their practice this year:
Personal Accomplishments
- Received BBA degree in Economics & Marketing from Loyola University New Orleans in 2000
- Started at TNT Dental as a production leader and project manager
Mobile First Indexing
As cell phones and tablets account for 50%-70% of website traffic, it’s more important than ever for your website to be mobile friendly and responsive. Keep your most important information (e.g. phone number, appointment scheduling link and address) at the top of the page, and make it snappy – your pages should load in under three seconds! TNT is equipped to convert your website into one that is mobile-friendly, so it can adjust to be viewable and usable from any device.
Link Building
As you build relationships with local organizations, charities, etc., you can increase your opportunities for link building. You want reputable websites to link back to your site – it provides credibility in your practice among viewers. The key is quality! Don’t forget, more is not better – it can work against you and decrease your Google rankings!
Rise of Voice Search
This is not a key component of marketing campaigns… yet. But, it’s on the horizon. With the prevalence of Siri, Cortana and Alexa, people are using voice search to find out information, and finding your practice is no different. The nuance in voices definitely plays a part in this, as does the fact that people don’t necessarily talk the way they type, so you have to account for SEO and identifying keywords that someone might speak (as opposed to what they type).
Angela’s role at TNT helps make your practice shine in Google rankings – her team knows how to analyze each site and develop a plan that will take your listing to page 1 of the search results! Call TNT Dental today to see how we can help optimize your site and keywords!
